Along with church, school was legally recognized institution Romanians in Austria-Hungary in the nineteenth century and early twentieth century.
This had a decisive role in preserving national identity in education and in the crystallization of cultural elements that define the Romanian population in the Banat. Denominational school actively participated in the first level of education, literacy and training making, which would encourage Romanians access to other stages, higher education that provide training elite structures.
The first stage of the educational system also illustrates the degree of development and modernization of the Romanian society Banat, its ability to meet the challenges of economic development, social or cultural aspects of early-twentieth century. We believe that analysis is the most difficult period in the history of these institutions in Banat (School and Church), which imposed the Greek Orthodox and Catholic churches in their role as supporter of denominational schools, further steps in teaching but especially tax to maintain the existence of educational institutions.
The scientific approach toward structural analysis of the main cultural institutions of the Banat and the rise of literacy in the Romanian majority population was aimed at revealing relationships that were established between School and State, School and Society. Complex problems required different methods of research, finding appropriate sources, diverse (in press statistics from official documents and private manuscripts, correspondence, circulars and directories), and tackling major themes of everyday life, of the social, political or cultural life of the Banat. These were analyzed from the perspective of the school.
From this point of view, the "dialogue" with religious school and a Romanian company active role played by education in modern society this paper Banat had to extend over the area on school issues in all areas with which it has reached a direct relationship . Due to this aspect analysis Banat Romanian school should leave the Romanian historiography classic traditional patterns.
The paper highlights the main practical aspects of these interactions.
